Keeping Age in Focus

Thank you for taking interest in the "Keeping Age in Focus" project. Volunteerism is the lifeline to improving the communities that we live in, and the contribution to volunteerism by older adults is widely unrecognized. Thanks to The Create Fund through Shutterstock, and their partnership with American Society on Aging (ASA), I am looking to change the narrative of aging through accurate representation of older adults.

HOW TO GET INVOLVED

The goal for this project is to spotlight older adults in volunteerism through a photographic storytelling, and a 2 to 3-minute video project on older adult community impact. I am looking to connect to nonprofit partners and community connections who benefit from older adult volunteers. Depending upon how many volunteers we can capture, I would schedule a 30 minute/1-hour photography session (at no cost) to come in and capture your older adult volunteers in action. While I am unable to guarantee that you will be selected, organizations that can demonstrate a wide or unique way their older adult volunteers are supporting their communities will be strongly considered. Best of all, May is Older Americans Month and you will receive a high quality image of your volunteer to highlight in your social media and communications channels. Have a look at a sample of images I have captured on this page, and follow the sign-up steps below, if interested.
